How often do you shift gears in life?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 21, 2009:

Rule of thumb: shift when the terrain demands it...

...or when you feel you need a change, a kickstart, a challenge.

At the moment, I'm gearing up for NaNoWriMo, which starts November 1st, 12:00 a.m. Whoohoo! Now there's a ride!

Thanks, you two. I did NaNo for the first time last year (along with a bunch of other DD'ers) and it was a blast. Awesome support over there (in the Diving Deeper group).

I like this visual.  Not a bad way to determine directions!

On that NaNo thing, I'll bet that now your gears are spinning furiously, just waiting for the clock.  Tick-tock.  I'm on the fence about doing the NaNo thing.  Whether or not I see you there, have fun, and don't give up!

Well, to me it goes along with the way I believe living lies, which is, to remain in the present.

Re NaNo. You're registered (I just looked to remind myself) and you can take it a day at a time as far as the writing goes. That's my plan (worked for me last year).

I was just reading your NaNo profile page and am still laughing and nodding my head at Favorite Novels: the ones with words. Good one.

Am I spinning my wheels waiting for Nov 1? Sometimes, but mostly not. I write regardless, at one thing or another, including a little something I posted to DD's Truly Bad a day or two ago. Good for keeping in practice, and also for getting some of the dross out of the way (a little bit like Morning Pages—I forget whether you're one of the ones who has done them).

Thanks!
