This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 25, 2009:
What is there to know or understand that the soul doesn’t already know, the heart understand, without words to complicate?
You are the truth from foot to brow.
Now, what else would you like to know?

Help

I would like to know if there is really such a thing as a soul mate for everyone, or whether we just have this idea to compensate for the way we go through life hurting each other. Do we really grow from hurt or just cover it up with idealism? How can we believe in being the captains of our fate, and yet say things happen for a reason! I would like to understand some of these contradictions of modern life. If only :)
Those are really good questions, Lauren, and they have been my questions as well. I think that though there is a universality to questions of this sort, the answers have to be individual – i.e., answers that make sense to us as individuals can really only be found within. (MO. Nobody can offer truth or *knowing* to anyone else, they can only offer opinions, or interpretations.)
And I wonder if there really are contradictions?
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I love Rumi. One of the things I love about Gaia is you can be bopping around blogs and here’s and quote from Rumi and there’s another quote. Yours is the second quote in the past ten minutes! Thanks Ruth for pointing towards that which understands before we utter a single syllable.
really lovely…those dancers about sent me into a trance!
an especially nice quote too:-)
I know what you mean, Kathy, I sometimes think I’m too apt to quote him, but then, if his words fit, why not, right? And can there ever be too many Rumi quotes? :)
Janet, I was quite enchanted by the dancers as well. Thank you.
you always have the best stuff. I love rumi
Thanks, Jen! Me too…
